"To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float." — Alan Watts
"The Flow" is a visual meditation on surrender and trust. Inspired by the profound words of Alan Watts, this masterpiece captures the essence of fluid motion and the beauty of non-resistance. It is an artistic representation of the moment one stops struggling against the current and begins to move in harmony with the universe.
The Fluidity of Paper
In this 70×70 cm composition, the rigid nature of paper is transformed into something seemingly liquid. Through the strategic use of high-relief paper strips, the artwork achieves a sense of movement that feels both organic and eternal.
- Rhythmic Currents: Thousands of paper strips are hand-placed on-edge to create cascading waves and swirling patterns. This technique allows the eye to follow the "flow" across the surface, mimicking the natural behavior of water.
- Abstract Harmony: The design balances complex detailed clusters with open, breathing spaces, reflecting the philosophical balance between action and stillness (the act of floating).
- Dimensional Serenity: By layering paper at different heights, the artwork creates a physical depth that invites the viewer to "dive" into the composition, where light and shadow enhance the sensation of being submerged in a peaceful current.

Preservation & Display
- Shadow Box Sanctuary: To preserve the intricate verticality of the paper strips and the fluid structure of the design, the piece is housed in a deep, professional shadow box frame.
- Dynamic Shadows: "The Flow" is a living artwork. Under directional lighting, the paper ridges cast soft, elongated shadows that move as the ambient light changes, creating an ever-evolving visual experience.
- Vibrant Longevity: To maintain the subtle gradients and pure tones of the paper, it is recommended to display the artwork away from direct, harsh sunlight.
"Where the stillness of the mind meets the motion of the strip."
